John Koon
John Kennedy Koon, 72, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011.
John was a native of Mars Hill, NC and a son of the late Howard and Lena Young Koon. He was preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Johnson and Janice Koon; brother, George Koon.
Surviving family include his son, Antonia Koon (Hewaida); brothers, Robert, Charles, Calvin and Adolphus Koon (Misty); sisters, Mary Gash, Martha Gardenhight (Billy), Ruthie Lynch, Gladys Gibson and special sister, Eva Whiteside; eight grandchildren; special nephew and caregiver, David Whiteside; other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be 1 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Ray & Allen Funeral Service with Rev. William Ray officiating.
