Mrs. Matilda "Scrap" Flack

Matilda Giles Flack, 81, of 22 River Glen Drive, Apt. 22, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011.
Matilda was a native of Union, SC and a daughter of the late Nancy Smith Boston and Jeff Giles, Sr.
She attended the Union County school system and A B Tech. Matilda or "Scrap" as she was fondly known by family and friends, was a member of Brown Temple CME Church and was a member of the gospel and African choir, missionary and stewardess boards.
She retired from Buncombe County Child Development. Scrap enjoyed cooking reading and completing crossword puzzles.
In addition to her mother and father she was preceded in death by her step-father, Maceo Boston, sisters, Annie Ruth Giles, Alma Jo and Rosa Boston; brothers, Jeff Giles, Jr., Maceo and George Boston; granddaughter, Lisa Kilgo; a niece and three nephews.
Surviving family include her husband, Leonard A. Flack; sons, James Garner (Kathy) of Spartanburg, SC, Ronald Garner (Natalie) of Pleasantville, NJ, Reginald Garner of Boston, MA and Christopher Garner of Pleasantville, NJ; daughters, Shirley Kilgo of Asheville; step-daughters, Gladys Head and Gloria Lewis of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Azelia Giles of Cleveland, OH, Brenda Craig, Rosetta Boseman and Carolyn Boston of Asheville and Virginia Gibson (Wallace) of Augusta, GA. 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and freiends.
The funeral will be 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Brown Temple CME Church with Rev. Gary McDaniels officiating. Burial will be in the WC State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence.

To the family of Mrs. Scrap,
My heart is filled with sadness for your loss. I know that she is singing in heaven for the Lord.
She was a woman with a big heart and great spirit. She will be missed by everyone.
